Membership levels

ARMA is a nonprofit organization, funded by member fees. Contributions from symposia and workshops are also used to defray operating costs. Benefits of membership include discounts on ARMA-sponsored events, including the annual US Rock Mechanics/Geomechanics Symposium, subscription to the ARMA newsletter, discounts on materials through the OnePetro digital library, and access to member-only content on this website.

Individual membership in ARMA is open to any individual with an interest in rock mechanics, rock engineering, and geomechanics. Member dues can be paid annually or as a one-time fee for a lifetime membership. In addition to the other benefits of ARMA membership, individual and lifetime members receive membership in the International Society for Rock Mechanics for the duration of their ARMA membership. A reduced annual member fee for ARMA and ISRM is available to students enrolled in a degree program.

  • Individual ARMA member annual dues: $100 (add ISRM free of charge)
  • Reduced annual member dues for students: $25.00 ARMA only / $35 ARMA+ISRM
  • ARMA lifetime member one-time fee: $1000 (add ISRM free of charge)

Corporate membership in ARMA is open to companies, firms, non-profit organizations, universities, and government agencies with an interest in rock mechanics and geomechanics. In recognition of their support for the professional practice in rock mechanics and geomechanics, ARMA features corporate members at the annual symposium and in ARMA publications. Corporate members receive discounts on booth price at the annual U.S. rock mechanics symposium, complimentary passes for the symposium trade show and individual memberships, and other corporate member benefits.
