International Geomechanics Conference

18-20 November 2024, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

To be held on 18–20 November 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the International Geomechanics Conference is a multi-discipline and multi-industry event. It is hosted by PETRONAS and co-organized by nine professional societies: American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA), Dhahran Geoscience Society (DGS), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA), China Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME), European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), and Singapore Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering Geology (SRMEG). Already over 87 global organizations have confirmed to attend.

The conference will open with the legacy training program “Rock with Fellows,” featuring Prof. Maurice Dusseault (University of Waterloo), Prof. Laura Pyrak-Nolte (Purdue University), and Prof. Derek Elsworth (Penn State University).

Highlighting the role of geomechanics for sustainability and energy efficiency, the conference will provide a top tier platform to exchange technologies and experience, and to connect global know-hows for sustainable future. It will cover seven technical themes and over 60 topics, including CO2 sequestration and utilization, subsurface hydrogen and energy storage, fundamental geomechanics, petroleum geomechanics, geomechanics for geothermal and new energies systems, geotechnics and environment, and mining rock mechanics.

Call for abstracts closes 14 June 2024
